MinneconsinWeekly

I had a really cool personal miracle happen this week I found that the more I lose myself in studying for my investigators the more I learn and the more I retain, and the more sincere and diligent my efforts become. This has helped me a lot and it has opened my eyes to even more miracles. I just have to say that my heart is full and I don't know how to express myself right now. My sister Shelby recently entered into the MTC in Guatemala I have been so excited for her. I know how great this work is and I feel so privileged to serve and have stewardship over the souls of these wonderful people in River Falls.

In President Clements letter to the mission he gave us some advice on how to have a more spirit filled lesson. Give it a try if you find yourself in a teaching situation.

The most powerful way to develop the spirit during a lesson is to testify. But it must be a sincere, heart-felt testimony. That is only possible if you have communed with God that morning during personal study. And then you must “treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man.” D&C 84:85

Thus, studying and reflecting on the scriptures throughout the day are the key to your having the spirit when you testify. Most missionaries don’t testify often enough. You should testify often during a lesson. The testimony is simple: “Joseph Smith was the Lord’s prophet. The Book of Mormon is true. It’s the word of God. The Lord has revealed that to me through His Holy Spirit.”

Testimony should be short and simple. But it must be a testimony. Just teaching without testimony will yield no fruit.

Till next time lostolove.
